SRINAGAR: Physician, medical educator, researcher and public health advocate Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), London, recognising his professional contributions to clinical medicine, medical education, research and public health.
Dr Itoo will formally receive the Fellowship award scroll at a convocation ceremony of the Royal College of Physicians in London, United Kingdom.
The FRCP is a professional distinction conferred by the Royal College of Physicians through election, recognising physicians for distinguished professional achievements and contributions to medicine.
Dr Itoo graduated in Biology from the University of Kashmir and subsequently studied Medicine at the University of Jammu. His professional portfolio includes qualifications, fellowships and memberships spanning clinical medicine, public health, medical education, research and biological sciences.
His other credentials include Fellowship of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH), Fellowship of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF Fellow), Chartered Biologist (CBiol), Chartered Scientist (CSci), Member of the Royal Society of Biology (MRSB) and Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd).
He also holds a diploma from Christian Medical College, Vellore, and is a member of the American College of Physicians and an Academic Life Member of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India.
Dr Itoo has also recently been appointed as an assessor with the Academy of Medical Educators in the UK.
His work has included patient care, medical education, research and public health awareness through medical writing and community outreach. His contributions have received recognition at national and international levels.
