SRINAGAR: Amid a prolonged dry spell in Kashmir temperature records continue to be shattered.

The latest victim of this unusual warmth is Pahalgam, where the mercury has surged to an unprecedented 14.1 degrees C, marking the highest January temperature ever recorded in its history.

This surpasses the previous milestone set on January 14, 2018, when the thermometer touched 13.8 degrees C.

The abnormal warmth, more akin to late March conditions, has set tongues wagging, adding another layer to the changing weather in the region.
