Tourism secretary, Parvez Diwan on Tuesday inaugurated the ‘Kashmir Festival’ at Srinagar’s Kashmir Haat. The logo of the festival was also unveiled at the event.

The inaugural function was marked by a cultural program in which 38 Kashmiri participants presented various cultural items. School children were also invited to attend the function.

The Kashmir Festival was simultaneously thrown open at Zabarwan Park, Nehru Park, Sonmarg, Pahalgam and other tourism hotspots of Kashmir valley.

“The main aim of the event is to hook the interest of the incoming tourists to the valley and boost the economy of the local artisans,” Shabir Ahmed, Program Director, said.
