The meteorological department had issued a weather warning on September 3, predicting the intensity of rainfall.

“We had issued a warning on September 3 to both the divisional commissioners in the state,” Sonum Lotus, Director Meteorological Centre Srinagar told local news gatherer KNS.
“Although we don’t want to enter into a blame game but the government responded well,” Lotus said, adding “We can not afford to create panic.

Making a weather forecast, Lotus said that the weather will improve but there will be a light rainfall till September 7 morning. “Though the intensity of rain has significantly decreased but there will be light rainfall.

As far as Jammu region is concerned, Lotus said that there will be no change in the intensity of rainfall and it may continue till September 7. “In Jammu region the intensity of rainfall may remain same but a change in the weather is expected only after September 7,” Lotus added.
