SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has stepped up preparations for the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJ&K), with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg directing officials to ensure seamless coordination and prompt information sharing for the mega event.
Garg chaired a high-level meeting at the Auditorium of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in Srinagar on Thursday to review the final preparations for the festival.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Secretary Information, Director DIPR, SSP Srinagar, SSP Security, SSP Traffic, heads of departments, nodal and liaison officers and other officials associated with the arrangements.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner stressed the need for disciplined execution, close coordination and clear ownership of responsibilities among officers deployed for the festival.
He directed nodal and liaison officers to take full ownership of their assigned duties and remain aware of the broader scope of their responsibilities to ensure coordinated execution of all components of the event.
Garg also emphasised the need for real-time coordination and directed officials to maintain a continuous flow of information between departments and field teams, stressing that timely sharing of information and prompt response to emerging requirements would be crucial for the smooth conduct of the festival.
The meeting reviewed arrangements related to the arrival, transportation and accommodation of guests, opening and closing ceremonies, sightseeing and guided tours, film screenings, floating cinema, parking, beautification of parks and venues, help desks, selfie points, stalls and other allied facilities.
The Director Information briefed the nodal officers about their respective responsibilities, action points and operational requirements. The deployment and coordination plan covers the movement and facilitation of guests from Jammu Airport and Srinagar Airport to key festival venues, including the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) and INOX.
Nodal officers also apprised the meeting of preparations at their respective deployment locations and the progress of arrangements being made for the festival.
The administration said the meeting was aimed at establishing a unified operational framework and ensuring a professionally coordinated and welcoming experience for filmmakers, delegates, guests and audiences.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, SSP Srinagar and other officers assured full cooperation from their respective departments and reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination for the successful conduct of the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir.
