SRINAGAR: In an inspiring display of skill and determination, two young martial artists from Kashmir have brought laurels home at the 5th Pencak Silat Junior World Championship held in Abu Dhabi. Alishba Fatima Jillani, a tenth-grade student of Delhi Public School Athwajan in Srinagar, and Aamina Zehra, a student of Green Valley Educational Institute, have made their region proud by securing bronze and silver medals, respectively, in the prestigious event.

Alishba, the daughter of Tanveer Jillani, Principal of the Commando Training Centre in Lethpora, showcased exceptional skills in the martial art of Pencak Silat, earning her place among the world’s best young athletes. Her achievement highlights her dedication and talent, which have placed her on the global stage and brought glory to her school and family.
Similarly, Aamina Zehra’s stellar performance earned her a silver medal, a feat that has brought immense pride to her school, Green Valley Educational Institute, and her community. Competing against the finest young martial artists from around the world, Aamina demonstrated technical excellence and an indomitable spirit. Her success is a testament to the perseverance and discipline nurtured at her school and the unwavering support of her family.
The Chairman of Green Valley Educational Institute, Mohammad Yusuf Wani, expressed heartfelt congratulations to Aamina and her family, recognising this achievement as a source of inspiration for other students. He emphasised that such accomplishments reflect the values of hard work and determination instilled in students by the institution.
