On occasion of World AIDS Day 2013, the department of community medicine (SPM), government medical college, Srinagar in collaboration with J&K state AIDS prevention and control organization organized HIV/AIDS awareness camps in Takinwaripora, Shahanpora and Hanji colony, Nigeen Hazratbal slum areas in block Hazratbal, Srinagar.
According to the statement, during these camps the resource persons from SPM department interacted with women and adolescent girls at various anganwari centres in these slums emphasizing risk reduction by behavioural change among high-risk groups and management of reproductive tract and sexually transmitted infections (RTI/STI).
