SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Saturday said that in wake of fair weather and road condition, only Light Motor vehicles shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and HMVs shall be allowed from Udhampur towards Srinagar on Sunday.
According to the advisory of the traffic department, LMVs will have to cross Nagrota between 05:00 am to 11:00 am and Jakheni (Udhampur) 0600 hrs to 1200 hrs.
“HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after the tail of down HMVs crosses Jakheni,” reads the advisory.
It said no vehicle shall be allowed from after the cut off timing, adding that forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar highway.
“They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar,” it said.
“On December 18, 2020 Friday, there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side in view of maintenance/ repairing of the NHW,” it added.
“Mughal road is closed due to snow accumulation,” reads the advisory.
People have been advised to undertake the journey on the highway only after confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396,18001807091), Ramban (9419993745) and Udhampur(8491928625).
