The internet services are yet to be restored in Kashmir valley after government banned the service since early Friday.

The government through an order had asked all the telecom operators snap internet facility completely for forty hours. The ban was simultaneously extended up to Sunday evening. It was for the first time that government had ordered banning of broad band supplied internet facility.

All cellular companies including BSNL, Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance stopped their internet services from 5 on Friday morning which are yet to be restored.

Probably, it would be the first Eid when Kashmiris did not use internet facility. Authorities would usually snap internet services on August 15 and January 26.

The authorities had ordered snapping of internet facility fearing law and order problem on Eid after a controversy a controversy raged when High Court directed police to implement beef ban across Jammu and Kashmir. An autocratic Dogra rule, consumption of beef is prohibited in J&K since 1892.
