Hurriyat Conference led by octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani Thursday evening said that authorities have detained around sixty eight of its activists ahead of Eid-al-Azha.

Speaking to Kashmir Life, Hurriyat (g) spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar said, “Hurriyat chief Geelani continuously remains under house arrest while police have detained around 68 members of Tehreek-i-Hurriyat.”

He said, various district presidents and Secretaries of Tehreek-i-Hurriyat, which is a constituent of Hurriyat (g) have been lodged in different Police stations across valley.

He further said that senior Hurriyat (g) leaders Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan have been placed under house detention.

Fearing law and order problem in view of beef ban controversy, J&K Police ordered snapping of internet services from Friday morning for forty hours.
