SRINAGAR: An edited video of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has caused a stir on the internet, as he is seen discussing the reason behind his alleged avoidance of Kashmir. In the clip, which has been circulating widely, the actor shares an emotional anecdote about why he had never visited the region. However, some users have called out the actor for supposedly lying, pointing to recent film shoots he had undertaken in Kashmir.

The video shows Shah Rukh Khan expressing regret for not visiting Kashmir despite his father’s advice. In the clip, the actor reveals, “My father’s mother was Kashmiri. He told me that I should definitely visit three places in my life, whether I stay or not. One is Istanbul, the other is Italy, and the third is Kashmir. But you can see the other two without me, just don’t see Kashmir without me. Unfortunately, he passed away early. I have been all over the world, but I have never been to Kashmir. I have had many opportunities, my friends have invited me, and my family has been on vacations there, but I have never been to Kashmir because my father told me not to see it without him. I will show him, Kashmir.”

Users on social media swiftly criticised the actor for his alleged deception. They mentioned the flicks he shot in Kashmir. These included Dunki and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

It was later that some of his fans gave the actual detail. They said it was hugely edited clip from his interaction with Amitabh Bachchan on KBC. “He came to Kashmir for the first time while shooting Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and this video is from the promotions of the film,” one of his fans explained. “He mentions in this Kaun Banega Crorepati episode that he came to Kashmir with Yash Chopra because Yash ji is also like a father figure in his life.”
