Kashmir observes shutdown on I-Day

Kashmir valley is observing complete shutdown on the call by the separatist leadership against I-Day celebrations.

All business establishments are closed in valley and roads are wearing deserted look.

All the offices, government, bank and private are closed. Heavy deployment of forces is in place in Srinagar and other parts of the valley with roads blocked with concertina wires.

Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called a shutdown today.

Geelani and Mirwaiz are under house arrest, While Yasin Malik has been lodged at Srinagar central jail to prevent them from leading any anti-India protests.

Mobile telephony and internet service have also been snapped.
