SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler in North Kashmir’s Kupwara and recovered contraband from his possession.
A police team from Police Station Trehgam, during a checkpoint near Shumnag, intercepted a suspicious individual who attempted to flee but was apprehended. A search led to the recovery of a charas-like substance.
“The accused has been identified as Faisal Ahmad Parray, son of Wali Mohammad Parray, a resident of Trehgam, Kupwara. A case under FIR No. 24/2025 has been registered at Police Station Trehgam under relevant provisions of law. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and network of the substance,” police said.
JK Police has reiterated its commitment to act against drug peddling and urged the public to report any information related to drug trafficking.
