SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police seized narcotics worth crores and arrested two individuals from Delhi involved in the illegal trade. The operation was carried out on 12th November during a routine checkpoint inspection at the Tengpora flood channel in Batamaloo.

The detained suspects, identified as Love Kumar from Shahdara Kastura Nagar, Delhi, and Vipin Kumar from Sultanpuri, Delhi, were found in possession of 2.4 kilograms of a heroin-like substance. Following the discovery, an FIR (No. 140/2024) was registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Batmaloo, and an investigation was launched.
Further questioning of the suspects led to additional revelations, resulting in the recovery of 2.86 kilograms of Crystal Meth (Amphetamine) from their vehicle, a Maruti Ertiga with the registration number HR11N 7336.
Police officials stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network involved in this narcotics operation, aiming to trace the origin and links of the illegal drug trade. The operation highlights the Srinagar Police’s ongoing efforts to eliminate drug trafficking and ensure a safer society.
