Normal life remained crippled for the second consecutive day Sunday in Kashmir due to a strike called by senior Separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani in the wake of communal clashes in Kishtwar town.

Most of the shops, business establishments and petrol pumps across the Valley remained shut. Public transport was off the roads but few private cars and auto rickshaws were seen plying.

As tensions escalated in the wake of the clashes Friday last at Kishtwar in Jammu region that left two dead and over 20 injured, authorities have put most of the regions in Jammu under curfew to prevent further clashes.  The mobile internet was also snapped in the region on Sunday.
