Normal life remained paralysed across Kashmir on Friday due to a strike called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the killing of a civilian in Bhagwan Pora Norrbagh area of Srinagar on September 27, 2018.

All the shops and business establishments are closed across Kashmir, while public transport is off the roads.

Meanwhile, internet services in parts of south Kashmir remained suspended and train services are also shut in the valley. Authorities have also imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city to thwart any possible protest against the civilian killing.

Resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq have been placed under house arrest while Yasin Malik is in police custody.

Earlier, three militants, two civilian and army man was killed during an encounter in separate areas of the valley on Thursday.
