The train service in north Kashmir resumed on Friday after a day-long suspension due to the security reasons.

The train service was suspended yesterday soon after the gunfight between the government forces and militants in north Kashmir’s Sopore began, the official said that service was suspended for the security measures.

“We have resumed train service and all trains will operate as per schedule in the Valley following fresh advisory from the authorities,” a senior railway official said.

He said that the service was suspended yesterday following directions from the administration for security reasons.
