Two militants and an army personnel were killed while one army personnel has suffered injuries in the ongoing gunfight between militants and forces in Bonigam area of Qazigund in Southern Kashmir, army said.
Reports said that after a brief lull, the intermittent exchange of fire has started again.
Sources said that although the forces kept blasting the building where the militants have taken refuge, the fire exchange had stopped briefly.
They said that firing was heard after a lull at the site of gunfight that started after militants took shelter inside the house after carrying out an attack on an army convoy.
Smoke was seen billowing from the house as forces used Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to detonate the house.
Meanwhile, Internet has been suspended in the area while the traffic movement remained suspended on the Srinagar-Jammu highway that passes through Qazigund.
