MLA Langate Engineer Rashid while debating in ongoing JK assembly castigated the statement of Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed that government proposes having separate satellite townships for Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir valley.

“The Homeland demand is aimed at making Kashmir another Palestine which won’t be allowed to happen,” Rashid said. “Kashmiri Pandits are part and parcel of Kashmiri society and they need to win the trust of majority community and fight alongside them for the just resolution of Kashmir issue and they should not concentrate only on getting packages, perks and privileges and enjoy sufferings of Kashmiri Muslims and not go after absurd demands.”

Kashmiri Pandits, he said, should live among their Muslim brethren in Kashmir valley. “Setting separate townships or colonies is surrendering to demands of communal groups like Panun Kashmir especially their demand of separate homeland. All this suggests that Kashmir is being turned into next Palestine which would never be allowed to happen and will be fought with full vigour and zest.”

Rashid said Government lead by Mufti Sayeed should focus on solving burning issues rather than acting as a facilitator in fulfilling fascist demands of New Delhi.

“Right minded people, sane voices will not allow getting Kashmir converted into jungle of fascism and aboriginality of this land will be protected at all costs,” he said.

Er Rashid had a heated debate over BJP members during his speech as they termed him as “agent of Pakistan” demanding that he should be thrown out of Assembly.

Engineer Rashid told the House that if they claim 80 percent people have shown their faith in democratic process and peace has returned to valley than how come should not Kashmiri pundits go back to their respective destinations.

MLA langate condemned the BJP and its ally members for showing hatred towards Pakistan and abusing her.

“Raising abusive slogans against Pakistan is highly condemnable, by doing so you cannot achieve anything instead you all should ask India to shun its rigidity, accept the ground realities of Kashmir and  think seriously about the much needed resolution of (Kashmir)dispute,” Er Rashid said in response of the abusive slogans about Pakistan raised by BJP and its allies.
