Kashmiri film, Partav received Canada international film festivals award for excellence.

Directed and written by Dilnawaz Muntazir, Partav is Kashmir’s first indigenous 35 mm digital film. The story of the film revolves around a professor who happens to forsake everything in his life to devote himself to his literary pursuits.

The Canada International Film Festival (CIFF) is a Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based film festival that receives thousands of entries each year. More than 90 countries have been represented at the festival. Partav was the lone entry from India this year.

“The movie carries scent of chinars and soul of Kashmir. It is the victory of Kashmir and Kashmiri genius.”  Said Shahnawaz Muntazir, producer of the film on winning the award.

Pertinently, Partav was scheduled to have grand premier in Srinagar, few weeks back however due to the events unfolding after execution of Afzal Guru; the event had to be deferred.
