SRINAGAR: A 51-year-old Kashmiri man, Ghulam Hassan Lone, was killed after being hit by a motorcycle in the Sodal area of Jalandhar, Punjab, on Saturday.
Lone, a resident of Gaziriyal, Kralpora in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, was a seasonal shawl seller in Punjab. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred while he was on the road. The rider did not flee the scene.
Police have taken custody of the body, which is yet to be sent back to his hometown in Kashmir as arrangements are being made. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. (KB)
