SRINAGAR: Abdul Basit, a young and talented student hailing from Chewakalan area of Pulwama in southern Kashmir, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing All India Rank (AIR) 113 in the UGC National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Speaking to the local news gatherer KNS, he expressed his surprise and delight at achieving such a remarkable feat. He said, “I wasn’t expecting that I’d be the topper from J&K. It’s totally amazing for me.”

Basit attributed his success to his focused approach towards his studies. He shared, “Most of the time, I was spending with my studies with no use of social media except WhatsApp.”

Acknowledging the support he received, Basit emphasized the contribution of his family and his uncle in his journey. He recognized their unwavering support and guidance, stating, “For achieving this, there is much more contribution from my family and my uncle.”

Furthermore, he highlighted the challenges he faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. He mentioned attending online classes during tough times, demonstrating his resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity.

Basit expressed the need for proper guidance and a structured study routine for all aspiring students. He remarked, “There should be proper guidance for everyone. There should be a total routine plan for their study, with the help of the Almighty, they will be successful.”

Basit mentioned that he received his elementary schooling in Pulwama before moving to NIT Pulwama. Additionally, he joined Aakash classes for a four-year course.

“Today, I received the wonderful news from the Aakash institute. Despite continuously checking my results online, I was unable to access them due to the high website traffic. However, I finally received a call from the Aakash coaching center,” he said.

“While living with my parents in Rajbagh, Srinagar, I managed to earn coaching. I attribute my success not only to my teachers but also to the significant role played by my uncle,” he said.

According to him, achieving success in life requires unwavering focus, consistency, and a strong connection with the Almighty. (KNS)
