Senior resistance leader and National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has claimed that Kashmiris detained in Kot Balwal jail Jammu, are being ill treated and humiliated in the said jail. Khan, who is undergoing detention in Kot Balwal jail Jammu, was today produced before a court in Srinagar.

Talking to media persons in the court premises, Khan said, “Kashmiris detained in Kot Balwal jail are kept with the hard core criminals and they are made to work like coolies”. Khan added that humiliation of Kashmiri detenues by the hands of Jail authorities is a routine of Kot Balwal jail jammu. Khan said that Kashmiris are being denied even the facilities under jail manual. He said that in Kot Balwal, as if jail authorities have been assigned to trouble the Kashmiris.

When asked to comment on the spurious drug scandal, Nayeem Khan said: “The so called government who killed innocent youth in 2008 and 2010 is involved in the spurious drug scandal. He said that the people who shamelessly killed the unarmed youth in 2008 and 2010 only to oblige New Delhi are now involved in the spurious drug scandal to make money by means of commission and all that”. Khan appealed the people of Kashmir to strongly react against the “shameless scandal so that the so called government can know that Kashmiris are a living nation”.

Pertinently, Nayeem Khan was arrested on February 8. He was first lodged in central jail Srinagar. Later Khan was slapped by infamous PSA of 2011, and was shifted to Kot Balwal Jail.
