Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) on Sunday held a one day workers convention at Bandipora which was addressed besides others by Party President Er Rashid gen. secretary Adv. Nazir Malik, senior leader Mohammad Adil Hussain and district President Ghulam Hassan Mir.

According to a statement issued to KNS, speaking on the occasion Er Rashid thanked people of Bandipora for their enthusiasm and response which they had been showing towards the policies and programmes of AIP.

He said, “Kashmiris don’t need to copy anyone and had proved their worth by sacrificing everything and fighting against all odds. However AIP will appreciate any such voice and party which will show respect towards sacrifices of Kashmiris and show its sincere commitment in resolving long pending Kashmir Problem.”

He further added that 5th January remembers world community about the broken promises regarding resolution to Kashmir dispute and those calling UN resolutions irrelevant should either compel India for an alternate acceptable solution or must not dilute their stand on Kashmir.

He asked PDP and NC that it is high time for both of them to confess that their slogans of autonomy and self rule have miserably failed and neither people nor any body in India or Pakistan is ready to own these slogans. Speaking on the occasion Adv. Nazir Malik warned govt. of serious consequences for ignoring Bandipora at all fronts and alleged that government is paying no attention towards the welfare of the employees working with Kishan Ganga Hydroelectric Project and is depriving locals from all the benefits which they are entitled from the project.

“Once project becomes operational there is every chance of putting life and property of inhabitants of about two dozen villages to risk in absence of proper planning and preventive measures against in undated floods,” he added.
