Kashmiris want resolution not cosmetic measures: JKDFP

Srinagar

Asserting that Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved through development or mere cosmetic measures, but by practical political steps, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Sunday said that Kashmiri people are fighting for their right to self-determination, as promised to them by international community through various United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

JKDFP spokesperson said in a statement, had political issues been settled through deceptive politics, India would have still been under the British occupation. It was the political will of the Indian leadership and the resolve of the people that British imperialistic state had to vacate the country. Same is the case with Kashmir today and ironically New Delhi is playing the role of British now.

The people of Jammu Kashmir have time and again resolved that they want an end to their miseries which is only possible when they are allowed to enjoy their right to self-determination. For this, Kashmiri people have rendered precious sacrifices and their freedom struggle has become costlier than that of India.

JKDFP while remembering all the “martyrs” of Kashmir, paid rich and glowing tributes to Muhammad Farooq,  Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and others of Hawal on their anniversaries.
