Amid mounting death toll of Kashmiris in post-Burhan protests drawing widespread condemnation, the Hindu rightwinger RSS has turned down the “claims” of human rights in valley’s ongoing summer clashes.

This was stated by RSS pracharak Dattatreya Hosabale who expressed “satisfaction” with Delhi’s stand against what he called as “anti-national activities of some” in Kashmir.

Hosabale was speaking in Kanpur: “Kashmir was burning with terror activities.” The pracharak even asked media “not to glorify terrorists”.

Apparently, Hosabale has taken the leaf from PM Narendra Modi’s recent statement wherein he expressed his displeasure over media coverage glorifying Burhan as hero.

After witnessing a massive funeral, the 21-year-old Hizb commander’s killing at Kokernag along with his two associates saw the entire Kashmir seething in rage. Protests amid clashes broke out in the region and on day 8 today, the authorities have still enforced restrictions to maintain calm.

Already 40-plus mourners have been left dead in forces action, while over 1500 people have sustained injuries in the ongoing protests in Kashmir.
