#KashmirNow: Angry Youth Torch House Where Burhan Died, Orchard Cut Down

SRINAGAR

Following rumours that the Kokernag family was “in knowhow” of the operation which killed militant commander Burhan Wani, angry youth on Thursday set ablaze house where Burhan died last Friday evening.

Local sources from Bemdoora area of Kokernag area said that scores of protestors today marched towards the house of Manzoor Ahmad and torched his house.

Last week on Friday, forces which included special forces from Cargo Srinagar, cordoned Bemdoora area and around 8 in the evening, police declared that “new age” militancy poster Burhan Wani along with his two associates were killed in a house.

The trio slain militants were identified as Burhan Muzaffar Wani, Sartaj Ahmad Sheikh and another local militant.

The police said that it zeroed in on a house in Bemdoora area which belong ed to maternal uncle of Sartaj Ahmad.

Locals said that following “rumours” that uncle of slain Sartaj was “involved” in the operation in which the three militants were killed, the protestors set it ablaze. “An orchard belonged to the family which too has been cut down by the protestors,” they said.
