District Development Commissioner (DDC), Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam Tuesday visited District Hospital Pulwama to personally take stock of the availability of blood, medicines and other paraphernalia in the hospital.

He directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure that proper care is taken of the injured admitted in the hospital. He also called for arranging free food for the patients and their attendants, an official spokesperson said this evening.

The DDC appreciated the role of local Bait-ul-Maals (community relief organizations) in reaching out to the needy amid prevailing law and order situation.

He was informed that sufficient stock of blood, drugs and other requisite paraphernalia is available in the hospital to mitigate the situation.

Meanwhile, SSP Pulwama and Additional District Development Commissioner Pulwama today held meetings with civil society representatives, prominent citizens and religious heads at Pampore and Awantipora to enquire about the problems being faced by the people in the respective areas because of the prevailing law and order situation.

Similar meeting was convened by SDM Tral and SDPO Awantipora with the civil society representatives, prominent citizens and religious heads at Tral.

Responding to the issues raised by the locals, the officers assured them that the Government is alive to the situation and would ensure that the people don’t suffer for want of essentials and other necessities amid the prevailing law and order situation.
