Condemning the killings and use of brute force in Kashmir Valley, different organizations from South India Tuesday took out a protests march demanding demilitarization and referendum in Kashmir.

One of the organizers of pro-Kashmir protest from Kottam Tamil Nadu, Senthil Vasan told Srinagar based news agency CNS over phone that activists of three Tamil parties including Tamilar Vidiyal Katchi (Tamils Dawn Party), May Seventeen Movement and Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam participated in the protest.

Shouting slogans and carrying placards denouncing the “state sponsored terrorism” the protesters demanded immediate demilitarization of Kashmir.

“Over 1,400 injured and more than 40 dead, within a week, stop hunting civilians, repeal AFSPA (Armed Forces (Special Powers) Acts), stop the genocidal war on Kashmir, stop military suppressing Kashmiri people’s Democratic Rights, don’t violate the Right to Self Determination of ethnic nationalities” read the placards.

“It is painful to witness gruesome civilian killings in Kashmir. We want to assure people of Kashmir that we are with them and will support their legitimate movement,” Vasan said.
