As the Kathua incident heated up and the opposition staged walk out Tuesday from the Legislative Assembly, locals alleged that a12-year-oldd boy is still missing after the tensions broke out in the area.

A local told Kashmir Life that a 12 year old boy, Mohammad Sultan son of Ali Mohammad is missing from yesterday and there is no information about his whereabouts.

“Even today morning, RSS men came and set dry grass heaps on fire,” a local of Haria Check village said. The area witnessed firing by RSS men on Monday in which three people were injured.

At least four people were beaten again today as they snatched milk containers from Muslim milkmen and threw it away, a young local who accompanied a lawmaker said in the assembly premises.

Opposition members alleged that, some BJP people want communal tensions in the area to help Modi win UP elections.

“There has been no action by the administration and the claims of government are false,” said Mian Altaf, “there should be immediate action against the DC, SP of the area and lawmakers should not be stopped from visiting the area.”

However, Forest minister, Lal Singh refused the hand of any party behind this and said the incidents took place due to the personal dispute of two Gujjar families. Singh represents the area in the state assembly.

“An anonymous person had informed locals about slaughter of a calf in a Gujjar house after which locals gathered and searched the area,” Lal Singh told reporters, “Locals found head of the calf in the bathroom and that lead to tensions.” Singh avoided making a statement in the house and instead talked to reporters outside.

Singh said that police immediately started investigation in the matter and it was found that an anonymous person was another Gujjar who did it out of personal rivalry.

“Opposition is trying to give it communal color while there is nothing like that on the ground,” Singh said.

However, locals refused to buy minister’s version, insisting some of his close aides in the area are terrorizing people from several months.

“The areas Kathua, Rajbagh, Chadwal, Sanji Moad, are very tense and we feel insecure here,” locals informed. The residents talked to Kashmir Life anonymously within the assembly premises.
