#Kathua: KU protests for second consecutive day

The students of the University of Kashmir on Tuesday staged massive protests inside the campus, demanding justice for eight-year-old Kathua rape and murder victim.

Reports said students from various departments have assembled inside the campus, and students were seen holding placards in their hands, depicting different messages calling for justice in the case of Kathua rape and murder case.

The protesting students said that aim of holding the protest was to draw attention towards the violence against women all over the world.

They also condemned the Kathua Bar Association for blocking the challan by Crime Branch a few days back, saying that “those lawyers should be arrested and stern action must be taken against them.”

They demanded that the culprits of the heinous crime be hanged till death besides demanded a fair investigation into the case.

Raising different slogans, the protesting students demanded stern punishment to culprits to the extent that in future no one dares to do such a shameful act.

Meanwhile, reports said that Students of Government Higher Secondary School, Nadihal in north Kashmiri’s Bandipora district Tuesday also staged a protest against the rape and murder of a minor.

Students boycotting their classes and assembled and took out a protest march towards Bandipora Chowk raising slogans in favour of Kathua rape victim.

The students were seen holding placards in their hands, showing different messages and calling for justice in the case of Kathua rape and murder case.
