With over 100 faculty-led projects available, students can select research topics that align with their individual interests. The internships, which typically last between 3 to 6 months, offer the flexibility to choose start and end dates at any time during the year, allowing students from top universities worldwide to join the KAUST community.

KAUST offers comprehensive support for interns, including coverage of tuition fees, housing, return flights, and a monthly stipend for living expenses. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with renowned faculty members in state-of-the-art facilities, contributing to cutting-edge research that can advance their academic or professional careers.

The programme aims to equip interns with a solid grasp of their research fields and practical skills, with many participants presenting their findings at international conferences or publishing research papers. For those interested in pursuing further studies, the exposure to world-class faculty and innovative research environments serves as an ideal foundation for graduate school, whether at KAUST or other globally ranked universities.

Eligibility criteria include being an undergraduate student in the third year or higher, or a master’s student, with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4. Applicants must also demonstrate strong verbal and written English skills, with no formal test scores required. Current PhD candidates, KAUST students, and KAUST alumni are not eligible to apply.
