During the interaction, Gupta appreciated Mishra’s efforts in strengthening governance in the Union Territory, promoting development initiatives, and preserving Ladakh’s cultural and environmental identity. He credited Mishra with laying the groundwork for many of the region’s ongoing projects and reforms.

The two leaders discussed key administrative priorities and shared their perspectives on how Ladakh can move forward with inclusive growth and long-term sustainability. Gupta expressed his gratitude for Mishra’s service and said he looked forward to continued guidance as the administration charts the way ahead.

Gupta, a former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was appointed as the third Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh on July 14, 2025, and formally sworn in two days later. He succeeds Mishra, who held the post from February 19, 2023, until his resignation last week.

The meeting reflected a tone of continuity and collaboration, with both leaders aligning on the importance of institutional memory and sustained focus on development to ensure Ladakh’s progress in the years to come.
