A delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Nasir Hamid Khan, Senior Vice President on Wednesday met the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan regarding the imposition of restrictions on the movement of civilian traffic on the highway and other places.

“The impact of the restrictions on various sectors of the economy was also deliberated upon,” said KCCI spokesman in a statement.

The spokesman said that Nasir Hamid Khan apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the difficulties being faced by Tourists and persons associated with the tourism sector due to the restrictions.

“Various suggestions were put forth for the facilitation of movement of tourist vehicles including treating the Tourist Forms as Movement Passes and also putting identification stickers on the Tourist Vehicles,” he said.

The spokesman said that KCC&I delegation also requested for deputing Special Tourist Police Officers at the various Check/Nakka Points for redressing grievances of the tourists and facilitating their vehicle movement.

“The Divisional Commissioner was requested to consider treating travel tickets and hotel bookings as valid passes,” he said.

“The administration was closely monitoring the situation assured the members of the delegation that the suggestions made would be taken up in a high-level review meeting later today and the order would be amended, wherever necessary,” the KCCI spokesman quoted Div Com as having said.
