The President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc), Mushtaq Ahmad Wani Tuesday hailed the Chief Minister and Finance Minister’s decision regarding release of cash relief to the flood hit traders, artisans, houseboat owners and farmers before Eid.

“The Chamber feels obliged to be thankful to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu for releasing the relief before Eid as the Chief Minister had assured the Chamber delegation earlier and held in promise by the Finance Minister in a meeting with the Chamber delegation held recently on 24th of June 2016,” the KCCI said in a statement this afternoon.

“Satisfaction has also been expressed at the KCC&I over the success of the efforts that it has been making to help reach due relief for revival of business activity of all sorts and particularly to support the survival and sustenance of artisans, houseboat owners and farmers,” the statement said, “The Chamber hopes that the Finance Minister will in the same vein will have the necessary  SRO issued with regard to  amnesty on Sales Tax and filing  of sales tax returns above Rs 50 lakh ‘online’ instead of Rs 20 lakh as has announced by the Commercial Sales Tax Department, as discussed and promised by him during the meeting referred to above.”
