When thousands of people were busy in saying prayers on Saturday during Shab-e-Qadr, two “lovers” were busy performing heinous crime in Vijpara, a village in North Kashmiri’s Hajin area.
Fayaz Ahmad Dar, 32, a father of three, was found dead in his bathroom early morning on last Sunday.
The sudden death of the young man caught suspicion when the deceased man’s neighbours found some rope marks and injuries on his neck and immediately informed Police.
Pervaiz Ahmed, SHO Hajin Police Station, after reaching on the crime scene, smelled “conspiracy” behind the death.
The SHO, after investigating from locals, suspected the death as murder rather a suicide. He called suspect including his wife Zamruda, 30, and others to Police Station.
In the meanwhile the dead body was sent to Sumbal Hospital for post-mortem. Later, police investigated the matter and constituted a special investigation team (SIT) under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Rashid Akbar.
The investigation carried by police revealed that Zamruda was running an affair with Showkat Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Khomina Hajin and the duo had murdered the deceased under a well-established plan.
“Investigations revealed that wife of the deceased had illicit relation with Showkat,” Dy SP Rashid Akbar told Kashmir Life on Monday evening. “Showkat had entered Fayaz’s home through the bathroom window and killed him by chocking his wind pipe with the help of a pillow and rope.”
Fayaz’s dead body was later kept in bathroom by the duo after he was brutally killed by his wife and her lover in “such a way that make it looked like a suicide”.
“All the witnesses were against them, however, they admitted their crime on Monday only,” said DSP Rashid Akbar.
An FIR no 42/160 under section 302 has been logged in Hajin Police station after which the duo was arrested.
