Reports said that the members of KCSDS led by Chairperson Prof Hameeda Nayeem on Thursday afternoon staged a silent protest at Press Colony, Lal Chowk over the ‘unabated’ killings by the government forces in the Valley.

The KCSDS members, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Abdul Majeed Zargar, Shakeel Qalander, Mubeen Ahmad Shah and Dr Altaf were carrying placards that read “Civil society of Kashmir demands an end to genocide in Kashmir,” “India if you have made up your mind to annihilate us, better do it in one go,”

“India has declared an undeclared war on Kashmiri population. Due to repression and prosecution, young boys are taking up arms. These young boys are being killed and burnt to death,” KCSDS Chairperson said.

She said that the forces have employed a new technique by placing IEDs to blow up houses and cause civilian casualties.

“Yesterday only, they used a similar technique in an encounter in Nowgam. The government of India should stop “incremental genocide” and instead bomb entire Kashmir once for all,” she added.

Hameeda said that instead of engaging with the youth, young men and women were being killed “brutally and ruthlessly”. She said that on one side India claims Kashmir as its integral part and on the other side, young boy were being killed.

“Without any delay, India must bring these young boys on the table and solve the long pending issue as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We’re fed up of this strangulated existence,” she said.

Prominent poet Zareef Ahmad Zareef said that India should remember the history that Kashmir was never a sub-civilization or sub-nationality but was always a civilization and a separate nationality.
