Scores of students of Kashmir University (KU) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration outside history department to protest against the killing of civilians in Khudwani village of South Kashmir’s kulgam district.

Reports said that students have started assembling inside the campus shouting anti-governmental, pro-Pakistani slogans to condemn the Khudwani killings.
Meanwhile, the students of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipota also held a protest inside campus against the killings in Kulgam district.
An eyewitness said that students have assembled inside the campus shouting pro-Azadi slogans to condemn the killings. An official from IUST while confirming the incident said that the students have gathered inside the campus and are protesting against the killing of three civilians in Khudwani during an encounter and clashes.
The encounter broke out on Tuesday night in Wani Mohalla of Khawani village, so far one army man and three civilians have been killed, while 35 civilians have also sustained injuries.
The civilians have been identified as Sharjeel Ahmed Sheikh, Bilal Ahmed Tantary and Faisal Illahi.
