Srinagar

Train services have been suspended in South Kashmir as a precautionary measure on Friday following a gunfight between militants and government forces in Wani Mohalla in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

“We have suspended train services in South Kashmir for security reasons,” a railway official said.

However, trains continued to chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir as per schedule, officials said.

Meanwhile, one civilian and an army man has been killed so far in the ongoing gunfight in Kulgam.
