SRINAGAR: Father of prominent human rights activist and Programme coordinator of Jammu & Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society Khurram Parvez, Shaikh Parvez Ahmed passed away on Thursday. He was 69.
According to family, Shaikh Parvez was not well for some time. “He fought with his ailments and all the difficulties in his life with grace and subtle courage,” wrote Khurram on his Facebook.
He further said, “He was the best father, brother, grandfather and most decent man for those who have known him.”
According to family sources, his funeral prayers were held at around 8 pm at his Gupkar residence. Mourning, the family said will take place only for three days.
