Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) President and MLA Langate Er Rashid has accused local district administration in Kishtiwar of being biased towards Muslims in the violence hit areas.

In a press statement issued Friday, he said “The district administration especially deputy commissioner is demoralizing Muslims in Kishtwar town and adjoining areas. He is leaving no stone unturned to demoralize them by giving them useless sermons. He has a track record of offering his volunteer services in the state to curb genuine voices to please his bosses and is always biased and selective in his approach.”

“It is strange that the district administration did not allow Muslims to offer Friday prayers anywhere in the town though the atmosphere was conducive for the same,” Rashid said.

Quoting locals, Rashid said that even Hindu community also had a deep desire that administration should allow relaxation in curfew so that Muslims could offer Friday prayers.

Rashid further said that police is doing everything to register fake cases against Muslim youth in order  to appease few influential right wing forces in the area.

He cautioned state administration against its “cheap” and “selective” approach and urged chief minister to rise to the occasion and use his authority to prevail the justice and harmony.
