According to an official order issued on August 26, 2026, Farooq Ahmed, son of Sunaullah and a resident of Sangrambhata, Kishtwar, was arrested by Police Station Chatroo on the same day in connection with FIR No. 34/2026.

The case has been registered under Sections 61(1), 65(2), 90, 91 and 92 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 17 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The hospital authorities said they received formal information about Ahmed’s arrest from the Station House Officer, Police Station Chatroo, through a wireless signal dated August 26.

Citing the “extremely grave and serious” nature of the allegations and offences, the Medical Superintendent said Ahmed’s continuation in service was considered incompatible with the discipline, integrity, reputation and functioning of a public health institution.

The order consequently terminated his services as HDF Sanitation Worker, District Hospital Kishtwar, with immediate effect.

The action follows the arrest amid ongoing police investigations into the death of the minor girl in the Chatroo area.
