AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed Tuesday sought stern action against MoS in PMO Dr Jitender Singh, former MoS Sunil Kumar and MLAs of Baderwah and Doda for “providing shelter and their open proximity” to wanted murderers of Lassa Khanday and Bashir Mochi killed in Kishtwar riots.
In a statement issued today, Rasheed said, “there can be nothing condemnable, shameful and unacceptable than the fact that Hari Krishan alias Kasooru was seen at Dr Jetandra Singh’s residence in Delhi along with MLAs of Kishtwar, Dodda and Baderwah.”
“If a most wanted criminal and killer can have his access to residence of a senior Union Minister and that too along with three MLAs, there needs to be no further proofs of BJP’s involvement at the highest level in promoting communal riots and acting as collaborators. It is not the first evidence that BJP’s top leadership has been seen openly with the wanted persons in murderous charges but last year senior BJP leader and a minister in Mufti Sahib’s government, Sunil Kumar was seen enjoying a cricket match in Kishtwar along with one Rohan Lal, wanted in offence of burning Bashir Ahmad Mochi alive during 2013 Kishtwar riots. Can BJP leaders explain how Rohan Lal’s or Hari Kishan’s offence or crime is different from a terrorist activity and why should not the BJP leaders be dealt in the same way, as alleged OGWs of militants are taken to task and jailed for years,” Rasheed said, adding, “Jitendra Singh and his colleagues cannot escape from owning the responsibility of being collaborators of most wanted criminals by saying that they didn’t knew them, as they are not their known party workers but the intelligence and security agencies on duty at Jintendra Singh’s residence are supposed and duty bound to know whereabouts of every individual or group visiting the minister.”
“While PDP due to its unholy alliance with BJP has preferred to keep mum over such a grave issue, NC on the other hand has also kept its mouth closed for one of its senior leader’s blood relationship with Jitender Singh. These incidents have yet again proved that not only BJP is directly involved in all the anti-Muslim riots and incidents in Jammu but PDP and NC can act as extension wings of BJP when and where required,” he said.
He added, “Law has to be same for all citizens and if two Muslim youth of Kishtwar are languished in jail since last few years for their alleged involvement in 2013 riots, how come should top ranked politicians, especially ruling class be allowed to enjoy with the most wanted persons accused of murdering Lassa Khanday and Bashir Mochi in broad day light. Since it is proved beyond doubt that police lacks will and courage to arrest the culprits as such judiciary should intervene and ensure that the accused are taken to task in accordance with the law.”
