A gun battle between militants and the counterinsurgent grid is going in down south. There are no reports that while one militant was killed, the clash is still going on. A civilian has also been injured and rushed to the district hospital in Islamabad.

Reports said the cordon was laid around Gadol village of Kokerag during wee hours after the information suggested the presence of militants in the area. The contact was established soon and the gun battle started. After the exchange of fire in the first hour, a militant got killed. Though the body of the militant was retrieved, his identity is yet not established.

Reports said the gun battle is going on as it was a group of militants trapped in the cordon. But there was no independent confirmation to this part of the report.

Meanwhile, an injured civilian Yawar Ahmad Chopan, 19, son of Abdul Majeed, was driven to District Hospital in Islamabad for treatment. He was injured in Gadol. Doctors in the hospital informed Kashmir Life, “He has a bullet injury in head. But his condition is stable.”

Authorities have snapped the internet services in the district.
