SRINAGAR: Power supply to several areas of Kashmir will be affected on different dates between October 12 and 25 due to scheduled shutdowns of multiple 33 kV transmission lines, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdowns will affect areas in Budgam, Anantnag, Pampore, Narbal and Uri at different times.
In Budgam, power supply to Ompora, SIDCO, Housing Colony, Budgam Railway Station, NIFT and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9 am to 3 pm on October 15 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam line.
The 33 kV Wanpoh-Ashajipora Malaknag double-circuit line will be shut down from 10 am to 3 pm on October 14, 17 and 22. The shutdown will affect Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Malaknag, Reshibazar, Janglat Mandi, Shirpora, Nowgam and adjoining areas.
Power supply to BK Pora, Aribagh, Kenihama, Checkpora, Chattergam, Kultrah and adjoining areas will be affected from 9 am to 3 pm on October 13 and 15 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore-BK Pora line.
In the Narbal area, the shutdown of the 33 kV Shariefabad-Narbal line will affect Narbal, Kawoosa, Mazhama, Lawaypora, Mazhama Railway Station, Sanoor, Radbugh, Malpora and adjoining areas from 9 am to 3 pm on October 12.
In north Kashmir, the 33 kV Uri line will remain shut from 9 am to 3 pm on October 15, 17, 19, 21, 23 and 25. The affected areas will include Salamabad, NPHC, MES, Garkote, Balkote, Bandi, Uri, Mohura, Rampur, Bani, Bijhama, Dhani and adjoining localities.
In south Kashmir, the shutdown of the 33 kV Mattan-Pahalgam line will affect Hutmurrah, Seer, Akad, Salia, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Pahalgam, Sallar, Aru and adjoining areas from 10 am to 3 pm on October 13 and 17. Pahalgam AIS and GIS and the District Jail are also mentioned in the shutdown notice.
Residents of the affected areas have been advised to take note of the scheduled shutdown timings.
