SRINAGAR: Power supply to several areas of Kashmir will remain affected on different dates this month due to scheduled shutdowns of various 33-kV transmission lines, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said.
According to KPDCL, power supply to Arampora, Drugmulla, Kupwara town, Gulgam, Batergam, DC Office Complex, Lolab and Machil Valley and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 5 due to the shutdown of the 33-kV Kupwara Hot and Kupwara Old lines.
The shutdown of the 33-kV Kupwara Hot line will again affect power supply to Arampora, Drugmulla, Kupwara town, Gulgam, Batergam, DC Office Complex and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm on September 7.
In another scheduled shutdown, power supply to Mujpathry, Khansahib, Raithan, Gurwaite and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on September 7 due to the shutdown of the 33-kV Khansahib Tapline.
Similarly, areas including Mehjoornagar, Jawaharnagar, Kursoo, Rajbagh Zero Bridge, Gogjibagh, Lalmandi, KP Bagh, Soiteng PHE and adjoining areas will face a power shutdown from 8 am to 2 pm on September 10 and 15 due to the shutdown of the 33-kV KP Bagh line.
Power supply to Gund, Kullan, Gangangeer, Sonamarg, Fraw, Ganiwan and adjoining areas will also remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 5 due to the scheduled shutdown of the 33-kV Kangan-Surfraw line.
Meanwhile, KPDCL has rescheduled the shutdown of the 33-kV Pampore-BK Pora line, which was earlier scheduled for September 3 and 7.
As per the revised schedule, the shutdown will now be observed on September 9 from 8 am to 2 pm.
