SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across several parts of the Valley between August 3 and August 8 to facilitate maintenance of multiple 33 kV transmission lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, electricity supply will remain affected in different areas of Baramulla, Sopore, Budgam, Chadoora, Charar-i-Sharief and Pampore during the notified shutdown periods.
A shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam line will affect Budgam, Sabdan, Nasrullahpora, Jawalapora, Ompora, SIDCO, Railway Station Budgam, NIFT and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm on August 3 and August 6.
The 33 kV Delina-Sopore Tap Line will remain shut from 9 am to 2 pm on August 4 and August 8, disrupting power supply to Krankshiven Colony, Old Town Sopore, Amargarh, Wagub and neighbouring areas.
A shutdown of the 33 kV Nowbugh-Chadoora and 33 kV Nowbugh-Nagam lines has also been scheduled from 8 am to 2 pm on August 4, affecting Sogam, Repora, Chadoora, Wathoora, Bugam, Dawlatpora, Gudsuthoo, Panzan, Lalgam, Ranger, Kathairgund, Yarikalan, Kakawring, Yousmarg, Charar-i-Sharief, Rakhaye, Tilsera, Badipora, Nagam, Hayatpora, Hafroo, Buzgoo, Gogjipathri, Laden, Loolipora, Nagbal, Brinjin, Watkaloo and adjoining areas.
The 33 kV Kanir Tap Line will remain under shutdown from 8 am to 2 pm on August 5 and August 8, affecting Barwah, Nowpora, Kralwari Zoohama, Kanir, Hushroo, Hanjoora, Kheerigund, Chanagund, Dadaompora and nearby areas.
Power supply to BK Pora, Khanda, Chatergam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Shalina, Wagoora, Wadipora, Aribagh, Checkpora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 5 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore BK Pora line.
Meanwhile, the 33 kV Baramulla Ist Line will remain shut from 9 am to 2 pm on August 6, resulting in power interruptions in Khanpora, Ushkara, Khojabagh, Government Medical College (GMC), Noor Bagh, DC Office, Main Bazar Baramulla, DIC and adjoining areas.
KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan accordingly as the shutdowns are being undertaken to carry out essential maintenance works.
