Over Rs 30.66 Lakh Released to Workers Under Employees’ Compensation Act in Kupwara

   

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, on Saturday disbursed more than Rs 30.66 lakh in labour compensation to beneficiaries in two separate cases under Section 4 of the Employees’ Compensation Act, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and welfare.

The compensation cheques, amounting to Rs 15,37,704 and Rs 15,28,875, were handed over to the Deputy Commissioner by Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kupwara, Rahil Amin, and subsequently disbursed to the two applicants.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring the timely settlement of labour compensation claims and safeguarding the interests of workers in accordance with the provisions of the Employees’ Compensation Act.

The district administration said the initiative reflects its continued focus on providing statutory benefits to eligible workers and ensuring effective implementation of labour welfare laws.
