KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Several Areas

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in several parts of Srinagar and adjoining areas during June and July to facilitate maintenance and related works on key 33 KV power lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Alusteng–Zakoora Line and 33 KV Alusteng–Nagbal Line will be observed on June 6, 2026. As a result, power supply to Pandach, Khalmulla, Pathan Colony, Gulabagh, Ahmad Nagar, Umerhaire, Panchayat, Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Godoora, Tulbagh, Chundina, Saloora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9 am to 5 pm.

The department further stated that the 33 KV Alusteng–Nagbal Line will remain shut on June 14, 16, 22 and 24, causing power interruptions in Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Godoora, Tulbagh, Chundina, Saloora and neighbouring localities between 9 am and 5 pm on each of these dates.

In addition, the 33 KV Habbak–Zakura Line will undergo scheduled shutdown on June 25 and July 12. Consequently, electricity supply to Industries area, Zakura, Batpora, Gulabagh, Animal Husbandry complex, Danihama, Khimber, Telbal, Burzahama, Sheper Bagh, Rahbagh and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9 am to 5 pm.

The same areas will also face power disruptions from 9 am to 5 pm on July 1 and July 7 due to additional shutdowns on the 33 KV Habbak–Zakura Line.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and make advance arrangements during the scheduled outage period. The utility said the shutdowns are essential for maintenance and strengthening of the power distribution infrastructure to ensure reliable electricity supply in the region.
