KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns in Multiple Areas for Line Upgrades, Maintenance

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various regions in the Valley to facilitate vital infrastructure upgrades and maintenance works. According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdowns are necessary to ensure evacuation of power, line augmentation, and installation of key components under the CAPEX scheme.

In the Srinagar-Budgam sector, power supply to Peerbagh, Humhama, Airforce, Sheikhpora, STC BSF, Hyderpora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on April 23 and April 26. This disruption is due to work on the 33/11 KV Receiving Station Humhama, including fixing of GI items and laying of conductors, which requires the shutdown of the 33kv Rawalpora Air Force line.

Similarly, in the Budgam district, shutdown of the 33kv Waterhail Tap line has been scheduled for April 17 and April 21, from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. This is to carry out augmentation work on the 33 kv Budgam-Parthan line, affecting the 33/11 kv Receiving Station at Waterhail and disrupting power supply to Samsaan, Parthan, Waterhail, PHE Substation, and adjoining areas.

In the Bandipora district, installation of isolators and link set repairs on the 33 kv Nehalpora (Markundal) line will result in shutdowns on April 19 and April 22, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. Areas to be affected include Naidkhai, Markundal, Sumbal, Chandergeer, Ankul, Gund Boon, and their surroundings.

Furthermore, on April 20, two major lines in the Pampore area will undergo shutdowns. The 33 kv Pampore-SIDCO line will be shut from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM for stabilisation and augmentation works, affecting the Industrial Estate Khrew and local cement plants. Additionally, the 33 kv Pampore-Pampore line will also be shut on the same day and during the same hours, affecting power supply to Pampore, Khadermoh, Zewan, Tengan, and nearby areas.
